Definition:
Nouns are also known as the 'names'. Thus, the name of any person, thing, place etc. is called Noun.
In Hindi, Nouns are of three types:
1. Proper Noun (व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा)
2. Common Noun (जातिवाचक संज्ञा)
3. Abstract Noun (भाववाचक संज्ञा)
1. Proper Noun: A Proper Noun is one which specifically refers to a Person, a Place or a Thing.
Example: Seeta (Name of a Person)
Yamuna (Name of a River)
Agra (Name of a Place)
2. Common Noun: A Common Noun is one which refers to the common name of a Person, a Place or a Thing.
Example: River
Mountain
City
3. Abstract Noun: An Abstract Noun is one which represent feeling, ideas and qualities,
Example: Sweetness,
Darkness
Honesty
Goodness

संज्ञा की परिभाषा - संज्ञा को 'नाम' भी कहा जाता है .
किसी प्राणी , वस्तु , स्थान , भाव आदि का 'नाम' ही उसकी संज्ञा कही जाती है .
संज्ञा तीन प्रकार की होती है.
१. व्यक्तिवाचक संज्ञा - जो किसी व्यक्ति, स्थान या वस्तु का बोध कराती है,
यथा - सीता, युमना, आगरा.
२. जातिवाचक संज्ञा - जो संज्ञा किसी जाति का बोध कराती है
यथा -नदी , पर्वत
३. भाववाचक संज्ञा - किसी भाव , गुण, दशा आदि का बोध कराने वाले शब्द
भाववाचक संज्ञा होते है,
